The Big Give Christmas Challenge

We took part in the 2015 Christmas Challenge and raised £5,000 by donating on-line on 4th and 5th December 2015. As we were successful, we have raised £10,000 for Open Doors included matched funding from the Reed Foundation and our sponsor.

We also took part in the 2016 Christmas Challenge and raised  £7,118 during the Challenge.

We also took part in the 2017 Christmas Challenge.

The Reed Foundation had agreed to be our Charity Champion for 2017 with a grant of £1,250 if we could raise £3,750 on-line between midday on 28 November and 5 December.  Added to our pledges already received of £2,500, we had the opportunity of raising £7,500 in total.    We were successful and met the Challenge!

The Reed Foundation has again agreed to be our Charity Champion for 2018 with a grant of £2,500 if we can raise £7,500 on-line between midday on Tuesday 27 November and midday on Tuesday 4 December.

Local fund-raising never stops

With local fund-raising for Open Doors now topping an impressive £69,000 from 190 events, it is a pleasure to report on a wide range of successful initiatives during 2016/2017.  These included a return visit by The Moonrakers folk band, a sixth piano recital by Alexander Ardakov, four walking tours of Oxford, proceeds from the new musical Amazing Love, a return visit by Los Altos Starfire Singers California with their production of Borderless and donations from the Oxford PHAB club selling refreshments and the John Wesley (Student) Society Pudding Party.

Our murder mystery evening raised £516 for Open Doors.

Thanks to the Garfield Weston Foundation for their two grants amounting to £50,000 towards the Open Doors Project.

Thanks also to Allchurches Trust Ltd for their two grants amounting to £16,000 towards the Open Doors project.

'A Reflection of God', published in November 2014, is a collection of 101 poems written by one of our members, Joanna Tulloch.  All sale proceeds (currently standing at £1,200) are donated to Open Doors.  Copies priced at £8.99 may be obtained from our Church Office (10.30 to 2.30 Mon-Fri) or from here
