About our church

A view from the porch into the churchWesley Memorial Church seeks to be an open, welcoming community where each person is valued and where the love of God is shared.

Wesley Memorial is a busy church, with activities for all ages. We have a full programme for children and young people. Students - undergraduates and graduate students of both universities, and young adults are most welcome in our fellowship.  The church gathers for worship every Sunday and meets in home groups during the week.

We run live Zoom services during the present lockdown; and recorded worship too.

Our vision: Open to God, open to all.

Our Covenant prayer:

Every year, on the first Sunday in January, we re-dedicate our lives to God at a special Covenant Service. This prayer forms part of the act of dedication. It is the subject of the tapestry in the church.

I am no longer my own but yours.
Put me to what you will; rank me with whom you will.
Put me to doing; put me to suffering.
Let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you;
exalted for you, or brought low for you.
Let me be full; let me be empty.
Let me have all things; let me have nothing.
I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal.
And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you are mine and I am yours.
So be it. And the Covenant made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven.
