About our church

Wesley Memorial Church seeks to be an open, welcoming community where each person is valued and where the love of God is shared.

Wesley Memorial is a busy church, with activities for all ages. We have a full programme for children and young people. Students - undergraduates and graduate students of both universities are most welcome in our fellowship, and are invited to join the John Wesley Society.  There is also a young adults social group. The church gathers for worship every Sunday and meets in home groups during the week.

Our vision: Open to God, open to all.

Our Covenant prayer:

Every year, on the first Sunday in January, we re-dedicate our lives to God at a special Covenant Service. This prayer forms part of the act of dedication. It is the subject of the tapestry in the church.

I am no longer my own but yours.

Put me to what you will; rank me with whom you will.

Put me to doing; put me to suffering.

Let me be employed for you, or laid aside for you;

exalted for you, or brought low for you.

Let me be full; let me be empty.

Let me have all things; let me have nothing.

I freely and wholeheartedly yield all things to your pleasure and disposal.

And now, glorious and blessed God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, you are mine and I am yours.
So be it. And the Covenant made on earth, let it be ratified in heaven. Amen
