Junior Church today is about children and young people taking a full and
active part in the life and worship of the church. It's about being equipped
for the Christian journey, by learning and exploring the faith together.
Above all, Junior Church is the church of today as well as the church of
tomorrow! There are classes for older members thinking seriously about full
church membership.
On Sunday mornings, the various groups of Junior Church meet in age groups for activities, discussions, Bible studies and special services. The activities are integrated with the adults' worship: every Sunday morning service either begins or ends with the whole church together, and the whole church celebrates Holy Communion together regularly.
For babies and toddlers, there is a crèche area in the church; and when the children leave, parents may take little ones to the crèche room where a relay speaker enables them to continue to hear the worship - babies permitting!
The older members of Junior Church also meet on Sunday evenings for more social activities such as meals, games, cinema, ice skating and bowling. The whole Junior Church takes an active part in the musical and dramatic extravaganzas, for which the church is famous. Junior Church also has a pretty good sideline in musical production of its own!
The recently formed junior church band plays a selection of contemporary gospel and secular music in worship and special events. All are welcome.
The easiest way to get to Wesley Mem is using the city's excellent public tranport links, walk or cycle.
If you're visiting from further away you may consider using the Park and Ride services around Oxford. The Church is a five minute walk from the train station.
There are parking spaces opposite the Church for blue badge holders.
